Training, including:
- Assisting in development of high quality training programs including “training of trainers” approaches, reflective practice facilitation and distance learning options
- Designing reflective practice models for organizations and agencies
- Developing curricula that cover the infant family and early childhood mental health competencies and prepare practitioners for endorsement, including an ethics module
- Using a database that can track individual learners’ professional development across knowledge domains
Training programs using a variety of approaches aligned with the California Compendium and individualized to the needs of each program, such as:
- Cohort Model
- Based on a series of trainings during a two- to three-year period
- Meets California’s recommended standards for both Transdisciplinary Mental Health Practitioners (half-day sessions) and Mental Health Specialists (full-day sessions)
- Includes face-to-face training sessions as well as required outside assignments (for example, readings related to topical sessions, short- and long-term assignments and class projects)
- Targeted to increase workforce capacity by supporting infant-family and early childhood professional growth
- Post-Graduate Training Program
- Designed for early childhood mental health clinicians and other professionals who provide relationship-based services to children birth to five and their families
- Provides in-depth training for individuals who are committed to providing a continuum of relationship-based services to infants, young children and their families
- Developed as an applied training program for new and experienced mental health clinicians, along with other practitioners from a variety of disciplines who are working with infants, young children and their families
- Drop-In Model
- Offers full- and half-day sessions
- Accommodates 25 to 150 people each session
- Features national experts who provide all trainings
- Awards participants with certificates documenting the domains, training topics, trainers and number of hours of training
- Provides a database to track trainings
